Medium voltage cables

Medium voltage cables are used for single- or three-phase power distribution in systems with a rated voltage of 6 to 30 kV and at distribution line substations. These cables are also used in public and industrial networks, indoor and outdoor installations, either on land (fixed installation) or inside the canal.

  • Its armed type can withstand external physical and mechanical stresses.
  • Lead type is stable in environments containing hydrocarbons, solvents and corrosive materials and radially (field) water penetration.

    In the voltage distribution of the cables the symbol U0 / U (Um) with parameters U0, U and (Um) represents:

  • U0: Nominal voltage between conductor and earth or metal shield in industrial frequency
  • U: The nominal voltage is between conductors
  • Um: The highest voltage (highest voltage in the network)
